Which beauty habits do we use wrong? Most of us have a wide range of beauty products. Various tubes, bottles, and jars for any part of the body are on our shelves and bedside tables. If we like some of them and use them regularly, there are also things that let us down because they don’t work. That’s why they just lie there because we don’t want to use them anymore and we feel bad about throwing them away.
Why are your skin care products not working for you?
However, we have found that sometimes the reason is not a bad product, but because we use it incorrectly. Let’s check your bad beauty habits.

1- Applying skincare products in the wrong order

Yes, it can be confusing, and yes, there is a specific order to apply skin care products for the best results! The general rule of thumb is to start with the product with the thinnest to thickest consistency.
The first step, in the morning or afternoon, should always be cleaning, as it is important to remove dirt, oil, and product residue that you encounter throughout the day and night. Wet skin is also more permeable than dry skin. This will help your product absorb better.
This is what an ideal routine should look like:

Beauty habits – morning routine order:

1) Cleanser
2) Face Scrub
3) Mask
4) Toner
5) Serum/Eye Cream
6) Moisturizer
7) Facial Oil

Beauty habits – night routine order:

1) Cleanser
2) Toner
3) Eye cream
4) Treatments
5) Moisturizer or night cream

2- Using an insufficient amount of sunscreen.

It is a well-known fact that the sun’s rays are not as useful as we once thought. Sunscreen is often our first choice when looking for protection from the harmful effects of the harsh summer sun. That’s why we learned to use creams with SPF filters and why we continue to buy them regularly in stores. However, we often find that they work but don’t work as promised – a slight tan appears on the skin.
Research shows that UV exposure contributes to nearly 65% of melanomas and 90% of non-melanoma skin cancers.
The reason is that we apply the product in the wrong way. Most people only use 25-50% of the required amount. To fully protect the body of an adult, it is necessary to apply about 30 g of the cream. In addition, you need to remember that you need to apply sunscreen 15 minutes before going outside. You should also reapply sunscreen every 2 hours if exposed to the sun.

3- Applying eye cream to our eyelids.

Sometimes we take things too literally. And we should not apply eye cream on the eyelids and corners of the eyes. This puts you at risk of getting the product in your eyes, which can be very uncomfortable. As your body temperature rises, the product can move on its own.
In fact, this cream has a nourishing effect on the skin under the eyes. That is why it should be applied in the orbital bone area around the eyes.
Also, when doing this, it’s best to use your ring finger as this is the weakest finger and the chances of you pressing too hard on the sensitive skin around your eyes will be low.

4- Matching cosmetics wrongly.

Everyone’s skin is different. You cannot expect all products to meet your specific skin needs. It is important that you pay attention to your skin’s reaction to skin care products. If you feel tingling, burning, or itching, your skin is telling you the product is not for you!
Take the time to find the right product for your skin. Whether you have dry, oily, acne-prone, or aging skin, there’s a product for every skin type.
Sometimes, unknowingly, we mix skin care products without realizing that we are nullifying their effects. Cosmetics containing retinol and vitamin C are prime examples. The skin needs a low pH to absorb vitamin C. In contrast, the absorption of retinol requires a higher pH. When we mix vitamin C and retinol, the pH of vitamin C goes up and the pH of retinol goes down. As such, these two ingredients are self-destructive.
Using these products when they work best is the easiest and best decision. Retinol should be used at night, while vitamin C is beneficial during the day.

5- Applying antiperspirant at any time of the day.

It seems to us that you can use an antiperspirant deodorant at any time of the day. That’s why we end up applying it indiscriminately and ultimately ineffectively.
The most effective time of day to apply deodorant is at night before bed, and it’s especially important to apply antiperspirant at night. Your body temperature is lower and your armpits are dry at this point, so the deodorant will have a better chance of working on your skin.
Antiperspirants are most effective when in contact with clean, dry skin (such as after a shower) when the sweat ducts are less active. Usually, this phase begins in the evening and lasts all night.

6- Bad beauty habits: Using face wipes constantly.

Do not use face wipes every day. While face wipes are convenient, they shouldn’t replace your regular face-washing routine. Washing your face with water and cleanser is the most effective way to clean the skin and remove makeup.
The ads kept telling us it was a must-have product. They are really convenient because you can just wipe your face without wasting time wiping it again.
However, it should be noted that the daily use of cleaning cosmetic wipes can be harmful to the skin because they are soaked in preservatives, giving them better cleaning properties and longer shelf life. In addition, they are abrasive to the skin, which is not very good either. They are best used where routine cleaning is difficult or impossible.

7-   Bad beauty habits: Sleeping with makeup on.

Going to bed with makeup on can cause premature aging. This is because when your skin is covered with makeup, it cannot breathe and repair itself properly. Over time, this can lead to the formation of lines and wrinkles. What’s more, going to bed with makeup on can make your skin look dull and lifeless.

Not washing our face at the end of the day and going to bed with makeup on is one of the worst habits we all get into at some point, and it should be at the top of our list of skincare habits. bad skincare that we have to break. as soon as possible.
Imagine the amount of dirt, oil, dead skin, pollutants, germs, and bacteria that accumulate on our faces throughout the day. And imagine letting them sit on our faces while we sleep.

No matter how clean our makeup label is, no matter how hypoallergenic it is, it’s not meant to stay on our skin overnight. This bad habit is the cause of many skin problems such as clogged pores leading to acne and premature aging. So no matter how tired, sleepy, or drunk you are, cleansing your face at night is very important.

Think about these beauty habits and how to make it the right way.
